Finding Scyther and the Elusive Black Augurite
Before you can initiate the evolution process, you must first secure a wild Scyther somewhere within the Hisui region. These mantis-like creatures are commonly found roaming the Grandtree Arena within the Obsidian Fieldlands, as well as the Primeval Grotto in the Coronet Highlands. Capturing one is straightforward, but transforming it requires a specialized evolutionary mineral.
The critical component needed for this transformation is a rare item known as Black Augurite, which cannot be bought at standard shops. Staring down this massive adversary requires patience, as your main goal is to wait for the creature to accidentally stun itself.

This brief window allows you to throw out your own partner to initiate a standard battle sequence and deplete its health bar.
