How to Get Kleavor Arceus Evolution Requirements and Battle Guide

Pokémon Legends: Arceus introduces trainers to the Hisui region, bringing with it unique regional forms and entirely new evolutions for familiar pocket monsters. Among the most notable additions is Kleavor, a powerful Bug and Rock-type creature that serves as a brand-new evolution for Scyther. Earning this formidable Pokémon requires more than just leveling up, as trainers must track down rare items and prepare for an intense showdown.
Finding Scyther and the Elusive Black Augurite
Before you can initiate the evolution process, you must first secure a wild Scyther somewhere within the Hisui region. These mantis-like creatures are commonly found roaming the Grandtree Arena within the Obsidian Fieldlands, as well as the Primeval Grotto in the Coronet Highlands. Capturing one is straightforward, but transforming it requires a specialized evolutionary mineral.
The critical component needed for this transformation is a rare item known as Black Augurite, which cannot be bought at standard shops. Trainers can occasionally find this item by defeating or catching wild Scyther, or by exploring the land with a rideable Ursaluna to dig up buried treasure. Once you have acquired this stone from the harsh Hisuan wilderness, you simply select it from your inventory and apply it directly to your Scyther.
Preparing for the Noble Kleavor Encounter
Aside from obtaining your own team member, Kleavor plays a massive role in the main story as the Lord of the Woods. Located in the Obsidian Fieldlands, this frenzied Noble Pokémon serves as the game's first major boss encounter during the seventh mission. Defeating this formidable level 18 opponent requires a mix of quick reflexes and a deep understanding of typing advantages.
Because Kleavor carries a dual Bug and Rock typing, bringing the right counters into the arena is essential for a smooth victory. Trainers should focus on catching strong Water, Rock, or Steel-type Pokémon to exploit its inherent elemental weaknesses. Utilizing common regional creatures like Psyduck, Bibarel, or Geodude will give your squad a massive advantage during the battle phase.
Mastering the Noble Boss Battle Mechanics
The boss fight itself relies on a unique combination of throwing glowing balms and engaging in traditional turn-based combat. Kleavor will frequently charge across the battlefield, leaving you to use your dodge roll to escape its devastating axe-like arms. Staring down this massive adversary requires patience, as your main goal is to wait for the creature to accidentally stun itself.
When the giant beast charges into a solid stone wall or the massive central tree, it will temporarily become dizzy and vulnerable. This brief window allows you to throw out your own partner to initiate a standard battle sequence and deplete its health bar. Once its health reaches zero, you can rapidly pelt the lord with balms to permanently lower its frenzy gauge and secure a hard-fought victory.
